Trump Moves Forward with Plan to Ban Transgender People in The Military

U.S. President Donald Trump has released an order banning most transgender troops from serving in the military except under what he listed as "limited circumstances," following up on his calls last year to ban transgender individuals from serving. This new order will give the U.S. Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, the discretion to decide on a case by case basis who gets to serve and who doesn't.

Obviously, Democrats and other groups who fight for the rights of transgender people were outraged at the order and will be making every effort to block it before it will take effect. Many LBGTQ activist groups calling it a "discriminatory attack on those who have volunteered their lives for the country." White House said retaining troops with a history or diagnosis of "gender dysphoria," will risk the overall effectiveness of the military.
