Who's Really The Rookie of The Year?

Who's Really The Rookie of The Year?

If anybody watched basketball the first month of the season, it was a clear given that Ben Simmons was the Rookie of the Year.  It was over! We saw all we needed to see! Just hand him the trophy now and save yourself the headache! Some say it still is. Simmons is putting up a very impressive 16.9 points, 7.4 assists, and 8.5 rebounds while shooting .504% from the floor.

What Happened to ESPN?

What Happened to ESPN?

I remember the way I used to rush home to after school, turn on the T.V. and watch ESPN all day. It didn't matter what show it was I made sure I watched it; NFL Live, Cold Pizza (before it was 1st and 10, then subsequently First Take), Around the Horn, Pardon the Interruption, and of course the staple show, SportsCenter.

Eastern Conference Predictions 2017-18

Eastern Conference Predictions 2017-18

NBA basketball is back y'all !! If you didn’t know, during the offseason the entire NBA has gotten flipped upside down; and by upside down I mean the Eastern Conference is now in the West. With talks of parity in the NBA at an all-time high, we legitimately had questions as to whether or not teams were going to tank until the Golden State Warriors blew themselves up.

Trading Places

Trading Places

Well, yet again, this NBA off season takes a wild turn as the Cavaliers grant the wishes of Kyrie Irving by trading him to their inter-conference rival, the Boston Celtics. It is rare in any sport, especially with trades of this magnitude, that a franchise trading away a superstar player receives equal compensation. In most situations as such, the team trading away the superstar will look to collect a stockpile of young prospects, as well as some future draft picks from the team they are dealing with. However, the team acquiring the best player usually gets the better deal. It is RARE, that the team trading away the superstar gets: A) a replacement at the same position who by the numbers, may have possibly had a better season than said superstar, B) a quality starting caliber player, and C) gets a draft pick for the next year that is GUARANTEED to be top 5.

2018 MVB: Most Valuable Bargain

fter considering the Los Angeles Lakers as a potential destination with their youth movement taking place, Derrick Rose has decided to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rose has signed for the veteran’s minimum of 2.1 million dollars. Now, he absolutely could have made more money by joining the Lakers and possibly a little more playing time as well.

Dynamic Duo Deja Vu

Remember that article I wrote about the Golden State Warriors shaking up the NBA? You should probably go check that out if you haven't seen it. The landscape of the league is changing daily as the NBA is turning into an arms race where teams are trying to gather enough talent to compete with the reigning NBA champion, Golden State Warriors. This offseason kicked off with some blockbuster trades and signings that may have possibly made this version of the Western Conference the deepest that we have ever seen, and there are still moves left to be made.

The Golden State Shake Up

The Golden State Shake Up

Whether you like it or not, Kevin Durant is an NBA Champion and Finals MVP. I will not speak about my feelings on the move that he made to join the Golden State Warriors this past offseason because honestly, this is not the time to do that. Instead, I will talk about what is and what will result from that move.

Chris Paul is a Lot of Things, But Not Overrated

Chris Paul is a Lot of Things, But Not Overrated

After being predicted this season to be one of the two teams in the Western Conference expected to be some form of competition to the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. The day after the Clippers lost, during some friendly lunchroom banter while I was at work, one of my co-workers felt compelled to make an incredibly bold statement: “Chris Paul is the most overrated NBA player of all-time.”

This May Change Things A Bit: The Pac Pro Football League

This May Change Things A Bit: The Pac Pro Football League

Earlier this year, it was announced that a new football league would be debut during the summer of 2018.

This is a big deal.

This new league would not be competing with the NFL’s stranglehold on Professional Football, but the NCAA’s. The Pacific Pro Football League is a new unique path that college age players can take to reach their goals of playing in the NFL.

LeBron’s Post Season Is His Regular Season

LeBron’s Post Season Is His Regular Season

Are y’all finished or y’all done crying about LeBron James taking his personal rest days during the NBA regular season? Once again, LeBron shows us why he is not, or should not, be judged by how many games he misses during the regular season (considering he only missed 8 out of 82 this season I might add), but rather how many games he shows up for during the postseason.
